I am very happy to announce that my album “Eternal Dream” is finally out on CD Baby!
This album is the result of countless hours of composing, rehearsing, and recording and spans not only the music from over 25 years performing on the violin, but also the music written by composers from the Baroque to the present. It was such a joy working with all of the musicians who made this album possible and I am so grateful to each and every one. I hope you will enjoy listening to this music and that it will inspire you in your own creative endeavors!
Now you can purchase downloads of some of my original and arranged compositions from Sheet Music Plus 🙂 I’ve made several of my compositions available including a new arrangement for violin and piano of “Annie’s Song” by John Denver, my first string quartet, and a few original pieces for violin and piano. I am very excited to be sharing this new artistic endeavor with you. Knowing how I am in need of forgiveness and God’s mercy, I am also so blessed to know that He offers His healing love to me and to all people who truly ask. In honor of the Jubilee Year of Mercy declared by Pope Francis, this series is meant to show the love and joy with which God offers His mercy and forgiveness. I am writing a series of compositions meditating on the love God has for us and what mercy means in our lives. These are the first two compositions of the series.
“Come now, let us set things right, says the Lord: Though your sins be like scarlet, they may become white as snow; Though they be crimson red, they may become white as wool.” ~Isaiah 1:18
(The sheet music score and parts for these pieces are available for download on Sheet Music Plus.)
This is the first piece in my “Year of Mercy Series”. It is a simple dialogue between the violin and piano. The lyrical opening section looses its way in a percussive minor section only to find its way back to the fullness and peace of the opening, though this time it is even more elevated and joyful.
This is the second piece in my “Year of Mercy Series”. This simple composition is written to celebrate the beauty of forgiveness and the freedom it brings. The cello and the violin share the melody while the piano plays in the high register above.
La Verne Symphony Orchestra, live performance, May 22, 2016
This symphonic picture is made of traditional and original Irish music. The percussion throughout is there because of the Irish bodhrán drum found in so much traditional music.
The melodies are as follows:
1. “Star of the County Down”
2. “In the Forest Fairy Ring”, original
3. “On the Rocky Road to Dublin”
4. “On the Friar’s Hill”
5. “In the Forest Fairy Ring”
