Carmelite Sisters in Concert

Last night the Carmelite Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Los Angeles gave a concert  at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse. The place was packed. The concert, in true Carmelite fashion, was inspirational and uplifting. Joy of life was present in every piece of music and we left feeling God’s presence with us. Preparation for the concert was intense culminating with a five and a half hour rehearsal last Wednesday and final preparations yesterday afternoon. The sisters were so organized and joyful throughout the whole process and it was uplifting just to see them working together to bring this concert to fruition. The beautiful Carmelite spirituality of contemplation and action was evident throughout the evening and I look forward to any events they hold in the future. I had a very special evening with the sisters and with my family and friends celebrating God’s blessings. You can check out the Carmelite’s website at Below is the news segment Fox did on the concert.

    • Was so fun wasn’t it! The Carmelites are such wonderful people and they really make you feel close to God because of their kindness and peace. Haha it was like being on retreat with them! Great job on guitar!

  1. Danielle, i just got an email from Sister Mary Scholastica which included a slideshow of the funeral for Sister Maureen(the sister we prayed for at the end of the concert). The song for slideshow is Blessings and the violins really stand out. If Sr. Mary Scholastica hasn’t sent you the link, i can email it to you. You played beautifully! Great intonation, phrasing, and expression.

    • Hi Jerry, Thank you so much for your encouragement! Yes, I would love to hear it. You can send the link to this email address. Thank you again! Kind regards,Danielle
